Electrician Truck Bodies

Electricians carry a different loadout to most trades. Cable reels, conduit lengths, test and tag equipment, power tools, and switchboard components all need their own storage, and they need to be accessible without pulling everything else out of the vehicle. Pacific Bodyworks builds custom electrician truck bodies in Sydney that are designed around how electrical contractors actually work on site.

What Goes Into an Electrician Truck Body

Every electrician truck body we build starts with a conversation about your daily workflow. What tools do you carry? What size cable reels do you run? Do you work from a ute or a light truck? Are you doing residential, commercial, or industrial work? The answers shape the layout, access points, and storage configuration of your body.

Common features in our electrician builds include:

  • Compartmentalised drawers for power tools, hand tools, and test equipment
  • Dedicated cable reel mounts with slide-out access for fast loading and unloading
  • Conduit pipe racks fitted to roof storage or side-mounted carriers
  • Lockable shelving for meters, oscilloscopes, thermal cameras, and other test instruments
  • Adjustable internal racking for switchboard components, fittings, and consumables
  • Under-cab storage drawers for personal gear and safety equipment
  • LED work lights for after-hours and confined-space jobs

These are not aftermarket bolt-ons. Every feature is engineered into the body at the design stage and fabricated as part of the build.

Aluminium Construction for Electrical Trade Vehicles

Our electrician truck bodies are built from aluminium. That matters for electrical contractors because aluminium is approximately 30 percent lighter than steel at equivalent strength, giving you more payload for heavy cable drums and switchboard stock. Aluminium also resists corrosion, so your body will not rust even after years of exposure to rain, humidity, and coastal conditions.

Pacific Bodyworks is Australia’s largest producer of aluminium service bodies. Every body is manufactured in-house at our Wetherill Park workshop in Western Sydney.

Ute and Truck Platform Options

We build electrician bodies for both utes and light trucks. Single cab, extra cab, and dual cab utes each get a body sized to their specific tray dimensions. Light truck platforms like the Isuzu N-Series receive bodies engineered for their heavier payload ratings and wider chassis.

Whether you are fitting out a single vehicle for a sole trader or rolling a fleet through our workshop, each body is built to the same spec and quality standard.

Safety and Compliance Features

Electrical work comes with strict WHS requirements around tool storage, load restraint, and vehicle safety. Our electrician truck bodies are built with these in mind. Lockable compartments keep tools and equipment secure during transit and on site. Load restraint points are integrated into the tray and cabinet structure. Gas-lift and soft-close door mechanisms prevent slamming injuries during daily use.

We can also fit LED work lights, beacon mounts, and reflective safety strips as part of the build. If your contract or site access requirements specify particular safety features, we build them into the body from the start.

How Electrician Bodies Differ from General Service Bodies

A standard service bodies setup works well for many trades, but electricians have specific requirements that a general layout does not address. Cable reels are heavy and awkward to store in standard compartments. Conduit needs length-specific storage that does not interfere with side access. Test equipment is fragile and needs padded or compartmentalised storage separate from hand tools.

Our electrician-specific designs solve these problems at the build stage, so your crew is not improvising storage solutions in the field.

Who We Build Electrician Bodies For

We work with sole traders fitting out their first ute, mid-sized electrical contractors running crews of five to ten vehicles, and large-scale operations supplying to government and utility projects. Our client portfolio includes builds for companies working alongside Endeavour Energy, TransGrid, and Sydney Trains, where vehicle fitout quality and compliance are non-negotiable.

Whether you are wiring residential homes in South-West Sydney or pulling cable on infrastructure projects in regional NSW, we build electrician truck bodies that match your scope of work.

Paired with Other Trade Bodies

If your business covers both electrical and plumbing work, or you manage a mixed-trade fleet, we also build plumbing truck bodies with pipe racking, jetter access, and hot water system storage. Both body types sit within our fleet vehicle solutions program, which handles multi-vehicle orders with consistent specs and coordinated delivery.
