Custom Aluminium Canopy Bodies

Pacific Bodyworks designs and builds custom aluminium canopy bodies for utes and light trucks across Sydney. Our canopy bodies provide fully enclosed, weatherproof storage with internal shelving, racking, and multi-point access, giving your crew the benefits of a van-style workspace on a ute or truck platform.

With over 35 years of experience in aluminium fabrication and a workshop based in Sydney since 2003, we build canopy bodies to suit all ute chassis and trucks up to 6.5 tonne. Choose from a standard configuration or work with our design team to create a body tailored to your trade.

Canopy Body Types

Tapered canopy bodies. Our most common design. The tapered profile follows the ute cab line, giving the vehicle a cleaner look while maximising internal storage height at the centre. Tapered canopies work well for trades that need a balance of storage capacity and on-road aerodynamics.

Square canopy bodies. A flat-sided, full-height design that maximises internal volume. Square canopies offer the most usable storage space and are preferred by trades carrying large or irregularly shaped equipment.

Enclosed canopy bodies. A single-compartment, fully enclosed body with rear and side access doors. This is Pacific Bodyworks’ most versatile design, offering an ideal alternative to a van for operators familiar with working from an enclosed workspace.

Gullwing door canopy bodies. Side access via gas-strut gullwing doors that open upward, keeping the work area clear and allowing full-width access to internal shelving and racking. Popular with electricians, telecommunications installers, and trades that access tools frequently throughout the day.

How Canopy Bodies Differ from Other Body Types

Canopy bodies enclose the entire tray in a weatherproof shell with access from multiple sides. Service bodies are open-top bodies with lockable side cabinets and an exposed central tray, suited to trades that carry both stored tools and loose materials. Truck bodies cover heavier platforms and include custom builds for mining, emergency services, and utility operations. Tray bodies provide a flat deck without side compartments, suited to transport and logistics applications.
